The Jens Hansen Movie Ring - the Original Design, Made by Its Makers

This is the ring for people who want the design itself, in real precious metal, from the workshop that created it. It is not licensed merchandise, and it carries no inscription unless you add one.

The film ring was made here in 18ct yellow gold. We make yours to the same shape and proportions, in the metal and width you choose.

Choosing Your Metal

The metal decides the colour, weight and price of your ring more than anything else.

• 18ct yellow gold - the metal of the original, with the richest colour and the highest gold content. The choice for complete fidelity to the film ring.
• 22ct yellow gold - the purest, richest gold we offer.
• 14ct yellow gold - a mid-price option with a straw-yellow tone.
• 9ct yellow gold - the most affordable solid gold, slightly brassier in colour.
• Red gold, white gold and platinum - the same design in the other precious metals, for a warmer or whiter ring. Red and white gold come in 9ct, 14ct and 18ct.
• Sterling silver - solid 925 silver, the most accessible way to own the full-size ring. Too soft to be used as a wedding ring however and will not last a lifetime.

Plain, Engraved or Carrying the Love Poem

The ring in the films was smooth and polished, and you can order yours exactly that way.

If you want it to carry words, our laser engraver can add a message, pattern or symbol inside, outside or on both faces. You can preview your text in Elvish script with our English-to-Elvish translator. The Elvish Love Ring versions come with our four-line Elvish Love Poem already engraved around the outside.

Full Width or Slimmer

The full Movie Ring is about 7mm tall on its side and 2.7mm thick through the band. For a lighter ring we make the ‘Little One’, just over 5mm wide, and the ‘Petite One’ at 3mm or 4mm.

Wearing It Around Your Neck

Many people wear the ring on a chain, as it was carried in the films. We make a sterling silver chain for exactly this, in lengths from 40cm, including 65cm, the length used on screen, and a yellow gold version too.

Our Movie Ring or the Licensed Replica?

If you want the famous inscription exactly as it appears in the films, that belongs to the officially licensed replicas we make for Weta. If you want solid precious metal, your choice of width and your own engraving, this ring in 10K yellow gold is a great option.
