Lord of the Rings Wedding Rings, Made to the Original Movie Ring Profile

Every band here is made to the final design Peter Jackson’s team chose from our original fifteen prototypes. We make each one by hand in Nelson, in solid precious metal, for couples who want that shape on their hand for life.

The choices that matter are width, metal colour and purity and what you engrave. Most couples decide them in that order.

Four Widths of the Same Band

All four keep the Movie Ring’s comfortable curved profile. What changes is how wide the ring is.

• The Movie Ring (about 7mm) - the full width and weight of the original, which was 2.7mm thick through the band. The most faithful choice, and often chosen by men or anyone who wants a substantial ring.
• The ‘Little One’ (about 5mm) - a narrower, lighter version, about 2mm thick, suited to a smaller hand. It is also the second ring in our matched sets.
• The ‘Petite One’ (3mm or 4mm) - the slimmest version, and the natural partner for an engagement ring worn on the same finger.

Each width comes plain and polished or as an Elvish Love Ring, with our four-line Elvish Love Poem engraved around the outside.

Choosing a Metal You’ll Wear Every Day

We make these bands in solid metal only, never plated. Yellow gold comes in 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct, and red and white gold in 9ct, 14ct and 18ct. Platinum and sterling silver are available too.

The carat changes both colour and wear. 18ct yellow gold has the richest colour and is the most faithful to the original, which was made in 18ct. 14ct is a middle ground with a straw-yellow tone, and 9ct is the most affordable solid gold, with a slightly brassier colour.

Rings for Two

Couples can choose a matched set, which pairs the full Movie Ring with a ‘Little One’ in the same metal, either plain or both engraved with the Love Poem.

If you each want a different metal or width, choose each band on its own. They will still share the same profile, so they read as a pair.

Engraving in Elvish, English or Any Language

Our laser engraver can put almost any message, pattern or symbol on the inside, the outside or both, as long as it fits the band. You can see how your words look in Elvish script with our English-to-Elvish translator before you order.
