Wedding and Engagement Rings, Designed and Made in Nelson

Our jewellers combine traditional and modern techniques to make engagement and wedding rings that suit the two of you. Some couples choose straight from the designs here; others use them as the starting point for something of their own.

The page brings together our diamond engagement rings, coloured-stone rings and wedding bands. Most decisions come down to four things.

The Setting and Shape

How the stone is held decides the ring’s character.

  • Claw and prong settings - such as the four-prong Jens Hansen Solitaire or the basket-set Aria - lift the diamond and let light through it.
  • Bezel settings - such as our Oval Diamond Bezel ring - surround the stone in metal for a smooth outline and more protection.
  • Side stones - the Eros ring adds eight graduated diamonds to its shoulders; three-stone designs set a larger centre between two smaller stones.
  • Vine designs - our vine solitaires and bands wrap the stone in handcrafted leaves and branches, for a more organic ring.

Diamonds, Coloured Stones and Lab-Grown Options

Most diamond rings are offered in two or three qualities: G/H SI, D/F VS and, on some designs, D IF. Carat options depend on the design, from about a third of a carat upwards.

Some of our newer designs are made with lab-grown diamonds, and coloured stones such as sapphire, ruby and emerald are available across many settings.

Metals for Rings Worn Every Day

Yellow, red and white gold come in 9ct, 14ct and 18ct, with 22ct in yellow gold on many designs, and platinum is available throughout. We prefer not to rhodium-plate our white gold, so there is less upkeep over the years.

Matching the Band

Many engagement rings here have a matching wedding band designed alongside them, so the two sit neatly together. For bands on their own, see our wedding bands; for diamond rings of every kind, see our diamond rings.

If you would rather wear the shape of the ring we made for the films, see our Lord of the Rings engagement rings and wedding sets.

Designing Your Own
