On the 21st of August, our in-house photographer and laser engraver, Maniana, was married to Alexis Heywood. We want to wish you both a huge congratulations - truly a beautiful and unique ceremony. I asked Maniana to talk us through her special day, and the creative process of her ring design.
“When Alexis proposed to me he said choose any ring I wanted, I was so happy because I am not a traditional diamond loving person, I prefer cabochon stones and I had had my eye on this classic Jens Hansen design for a while! London blue topaz is one of my favourite colours, dark teal, as well as red which you can probably tell by my choice of wearing a red wedding dress. My band was inspired by the wishbone style wedding bands I have seen which are usually pave set with lots of sparkling diamonds but I wanted something simple and sculpted that would match my engagement ring perfectly. I had Zane CAD design my ring, which was an awesome process."
"Alexis spoke to Simon about his wedding band design who tested out different custom finishes on a flat band and he picked out his favourite which was these hammered vertical lines that reminded him of tree bark. We planned our whole wedding in about two weeks, it was very spontaneous and ended up being the most perfect day ever! We stayed at Kimi Ora Eco resort in Kaiteriteri and only invited our close family, it was perfect. Thank you to the amazing team at Jens Hansen for making our dream rings, we will cherish them forever.”
