Metal
The metal.
We work in 9, 14, 18 and 22 carat gold, plus pure platinum. Higher carats give you a deeper colour but a softer metal. Most wedding bands sit at 14ct or 18ct.
Halfdan, master jeweller
For daily wear, I'd go with 14ct yellow every time. It picks up the warmth of your skin and an engraving will still read clean after a hundred years.

Measure a ring you own
Place a ring that fits well on a ruler. Measure the inner diameter in mm.
Use string or paper
Wrap a strip around your finger, mark where it meets, and measure the length in mm. That's your circumference.
