Farewell Tom Harrison

 Thomas Wishart Harrison

9th May 1912 – 17th April 2013

As I celebrated my birthday two days ago, I found myself contemplating the life of Dr Tom Harrison, who worked alongside my father in the Jens Hansen workshop in the 70s and 80s.

I wrote about Tom to mark his 100th birthday this time last year. Unfortunately, he didn't live to see his 101st - he passed away in April this year, just 3 weeks shy.

Tom lead a full life, working as an army surgeon during World War Two, and then as a psychiatrist in Queen Mary Hospital in Hanmer, before coming to Jens Hansen.

There's more information about his time in the workshop with us in the Jeweller's Mark

Here is the complete eulogy and order of service from Tom's funeral service.

Rest in peace, Tom.

- Halfdan
