Jens Hansen - the Ringmaker designed and made all the One Rings used in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. Halfdan Hansen said photos taken with a 15cm replica of the One Ring were popular with tourists visiting the Jens Hansen Nelson Workshop.
The Hobbit book was published on this day (September 21st) in 1937! Legend has it Tolkien gave the manuscript to friends, and it fell in the hands of publisher Stanley Unwin, whose 10-year old son read it. Of course he loved it, so it was published..and, the literary classic was born!
