Jewellers save the day, cut off tight ring

They say wedding rings are forever and one Nelson man was close to not having a choice. Jewellers at jens Hansen worked for close to an hour to cut a titanium wedding ring off the man last week. Because of the material, the ring was so difficult to cut through that it took two jewellers and plenty of effort to get the ring off. The man said the ring started to get tight several years ago when he sprained his finger while playing sport. It gradually got worse over the next eight years, before he finally got it of last week after it became “intolerably tight". Jens Hansen jewellers say the lesson of the week: don’t get a titanium wedding ring.
