Jens Hansen studio & workshop on BBC World News - today!

We have just been told by the BBC that they are running a short news clip featuring our workshop in Nelson including an interview with Thorkild Hansen. It is being shown on BBC World at 05:00 July 2nd London Time and 21:00 July 1st Los Angeles Time (with possible repeats on the hour the next two hours after that). I am going to try to get a video clip and permission to view or link to it from them too but this might not be possible.

Lost 'The One Ring' Big Chain Photo Recovered

It was the photograph we thought we had lost, but yesterday we rediscovered it....

The team at Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith is proud to bring you this pic of the Big Chain as it was being created in our studio.

Used for those scenes where the One Ring and Chain needed to be shot closeup, the Big Chain was made in sterling silver and scaled in proportion to the massive 6 inch diameter gold plated steel One Ring also created in our workshop.

Chain is held by Alexis Gundry (L) and Ben Holmes (R)

SHREK 2 parodies The One Ring and The Lord of the Rings

Shrek 2, the new movie from NZ Director Andrew Adamson, is a delightful romp of a film which gleefully spoofs many pop culture icons. In the opening scenes Shrek has a gold ring made for wife Fiona where it goes up in the air and falls on her finger and then magically reveals the inscription 'I Love You'.

We should have been able to predict it I guess, but within days of the movies release we have already had requests for a Jens Hansen version of the I Love You ring. Since they appear to have copied our ring shape design I trust the good folks of Shrek won't mind us engraving those 3 simple words on our ring....?!

The 'I Love You' ring as shown in the Official
web-released First 5 Minutes Shrek 2 trailer

Don't just take our word for it!

We have been completely humbled by our customers unsolicited feedback and testimonials to date.

Don't just take our word for it - see what our customers have to say...

"I was expecting something pretty special but I was still amazed at how beautiful, and as promised, how faithful a reproduction of the real thing it was. I'm so proud to own it, and to wear it every day. I would tell any fan of the Lord of the Rings films to buy one, its the ultimate "must have"., Rod W., UK.

"It is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!

We were hoping it'd be nice, but this is beyond all expectations. It is so beautifully shaped and finished, and unbelievably HEAVY. I just cannot adequately express how happy we are with the ring. Everything is even better than you described.",
Cole & Casey, Texas, USA.
